This process can be completed in a very short time, so you may have heard of the term "engine speed", which means the number of times the engine rotates in a given time. Higher speed usually means higher engine performance. Finally, the exhaust, the piston rises again to discharge the mixture of exhaust gas (carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen oxides) formed during the explosion.These exhaust gases are discharged from the engine through the exhaust valve, and then discharged out through the exhaust pipe. The exhaust valve is usually fixed, but some modern engines use variable valves to control the exhaust airflow at different speeds.
